ICM Real Time Visuals
Los Angeles, US
These are a few short, real time visuals I created in combination with my live improvised electronic music setup, ICM. Each visual was created differently, most are reactive to the audio itself. These were made to promote my live setup, ICM (Invisible Cat Music). Very little to no editing (other than the first video) were done to these clips.
"Primordial" Video is of fabric hung in front of a sub woofer of a speaker, while my music plays through. The air pressure cause the fabric to move in sync with lower frequency amplitudes from the audio. In front of the fabric is a container full of water to diffuse the light and add an underwater" texture. The footage is then pinched in perspective from video editing to create an illusion of depth.
"Bare" Video consists of 10 audio reactive LED lights aligned in a row. The lights are filmed through a clear plastic tube to give them a distorted perspective. (DMX+Max/MSP)
"Glow" This video is not reactive to the music. It consists of shots of a project I made. Blacklights are shined at bottles full of tonic water (which glows blue under blacklight due to quinine). The water is being pumped back and forth between the bottles controlled by Arduino. Some shots are through clear plastic tubes.
